FedEx hands the last mile in Poland and the UK to InPost
From 7 September, some FedEx parcels in Poland and the UK are delivered by local operator InPost. Booking and tracking are unchanged, but without a correct mobile number and email the recipient gets no notifications and no choice of pickup point.
Since 7 September 2026, InPost has handled the last mile for FedEx in Poland and the United Kingdom. The switch covers FedEx International Connect Plus and some FedEx International Economy and FedEx Regional Economy shipments to residential addresses.
Not every parcel goes across. FedEx picks them by size, weight and value: those that qualify are relabelled and passed to InPost for the final leg; the rest FedEx delivers itself, as before.
Who is affected
Anyone sending on these services to private addresses in Poland and the UK. Booking and tracking do not change: the tracking number stays the same and statuses appear where they always did.
The difference is at the end of the route. In Poland the recipient can choose the door, a neighbour or one of InPost's 30,000-plus pickup points. The UK has the same options across more than 20,000 pickup points, plus delivery to a safe place or instructions for the driver to leave the parcel outside the house.
What to do
Enter the recipient's real mobile number and email address when you book. InPost sends its notifications and the delivery choice to those contacts; without them the recipient can only wait in for the courier.
Email is an optional field in the shipping form and is often left blank. For Poland and the UK it is worth filling in — otherwise the recipient gets no choice at all.
