A free-shipping threshold you can calculate
You know the ceiling on shipping costs before you announce a promotion, not after the month closes.
A courier collects the parcel at your address and the recipient collects it from a locker close to home. The price depends on the destination country and nothing else: a 1 kg parcel and a 24 kg parcel cost exactly the same.
To Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland — the rest of Europe is coming soon.
A courier collects the parcel at your address and the recipient collects it from a locker close to home. The price depends on the destination country and nothing else: a 1 kg parcel and a 24 kg parcel cost exactly the same.
The large figure is the price excluding VAT; the smaller one includes 21 % VAT. The calculator shows both, with every other rate for the same route right next to them.
In the calculator the rate is called «Locker» and the carrier is Smartposti. The same ceiling applies in all three countries: 25 kg and the size of the locker compartment. Too big for a compartment — door-to-door courier delivery stays in the list; over 25 kg this network does not carry at all, and other services or a pallet take over.
Postal operators do have cheaper rates — but there you carry the parcel to the machine and post it yourself. Our price already has the courier in it: 4.25 € includes collection at your address.
Same route, same rate. You can check it in the calculator: enter 1 kg, then 24 kg — the amount will not budge.
The example shows delivery within Latvia. Lithuania and Estonia each have their own price, and it ignores weight in exactly the same way.
The regulator SPRK measures this across the whole market rather than operator by operator: between January and April 2026, 67 % of parcels in Latvia were collected from lockers. The country now has 1 868 of them for just under two million people, over a hundred more than a year earlier.
For a seller, that adds up to something simple: in the Baltics a locker at checkout has stopped being a nice extra and became the ordinary way to receive an order. A shopper who is used to collecting a parcel with a code in the evening expects to see that line in your checkout too.
Four steps. One is worth knowing up front: the parcel is collected from you — you neither need nor are able to take it to a machine yourself.
Country, recipient postcode, weight and dimensions — the calculator lists every service that runs on that route. Locker delivery comes up as a card of its own: carrier Smartposti, rate «Locker».
At the checkout step you get a list of the lockers closest to the recipient address, with street and opening hours. Choosing nothing is fine too: the parcel then goes to the locker nearest to that address.
Pickup at your address — home, office or warehouse — is already in the price. You cannot put the parcel into a compartment yourself: only a reservation in the carrier system opens one, and our label is made for collection.
The compartment code arrives by SMS, which is why the recipient phone number and e-mail are required at checkout. The parcel stays visible by tracking number all the way — from pickup to the moment the door opens.
As long as shipping is priced by weight, every order is a separate sum. The store either drags the carrier calculation into its checkout or sets an average and loses on heavy orders exactly what it makes on light ones. One price per destination settles the question: the shipping line in your margin is known in advance — for a phone case and for a cast-iron pan alike.
You know the ceiling on shipping costs before you announce a promotion, not after the month closes.
A 20 kg order travels at the price of a one-kilo order as long as it fits in the compartment. The categories usually left out of free shipping are back in play.
Lithuania and Estonia differ from Latvia by a number and nothing else. No separate contract and no minimum volume: start with one parcel a week and see whether the neighbours are buying.
One item in the basket or five — the buyer sees the same delivery price, as long as the whole order fits into one box within the compartment size.
Shipping dozens a day? Volume terms are a separate conversation — write to our manager and we will run the numbers on your own figures.
The calculator checks weight and dimensions while it prices the shipment: if the parcel is over the limits, the rate never appears — you will not hear about it from the courier.
Locker compartment: 60 × 60 × 40 cm
Sides are compared from the longest down — the box can be turned round.
If the parcel is too big for a compartment, door-to-door courier delivery covers the same three countries; it has its own price, and that price is charged by weight. A locker shipment is also always a single piece: two boxes cannot go on one booking, each travels as its own parcel. Freight on a pallet is a third scenario with a page of its own.
The heavier your average parcel, the more obvious the gain: the price stays where it is.
The YouSend team — shipping from Latvia across the Baltics and worldwide
Within Latvia the price is 4.25 €, to Lithuania 5.38 € and to Estonia 6.13 €, excluding VAT (5.14 €, 6.51 € and 7.42 € with VAT). It is one price for any parcel up to 25 kg that fits the compartment.
Yes, this rate has no per-kilo component. Open the calculator and price the same route at 1 kg and at 24 kg — the amount will be identical. It only moves when the destination country changes.
No, and that matters. Courier pickup is part of the price: you specify the address and a convenient time window at checkout. A compartment only opens for a reservation made in the carrier system, and our label will not open one — on this rate the locker works for collection only.
Up to 25 kg, and up to 60 × 60 × 40 cm. Sides are compared from the longest down, so the box can be turned round. If the parcel does not fit, the calculator simply will not offer this rate — and note that a booking can hold only one piece.
They get an SMS with the compartment code, which is why the recipient phone number and e-mail are required at checkout. The parcel can be collected during the opening hours of the locker, which are shown in the same list where it is chosen.
Yes. The checkout step lists the lockers nearest to the recipient address, with street and opening hours. If you choose none, the parcel goes to the one closest to that address.
No. The shipment is created in YouSend — no separate contract, no minimum number of parcels, no subscription. One parcel a month is booked the same way as a hundred.
In the results it is called «Locker» and the carrier is Smartposti. The other services on the same route line up beside it: door-to-door delivery is charged by weight, so their totals will differ. More than 830 locations in that network hand out parcels in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
Country, postcode, weight and dimensions — the price appears in a minute. No account needed to see it.
