Germany is one of the most common origins for inbound deliveries to Latvia. Most parcels fall into one of three scenarios.

Germany is in the EU, so there is no customs clearance, no duties and no import VAT. The flat 3 € duty per line item introduced on 1 July 2026 does not apply to parcels from Germany: it only concerns non-EU countries.
Within the EU there are no customs formalities — all you need is a description and the value of the contents.

A short description of the contents and the value of the goods in euros. The carrier requires both even within the EU, and without a value the order cannot be placed. There are no duties and no customs clearance for deliveries from Germany.
