Which carriers deliver to the Netherlands

Dozens of eBay, Amazon and Etsy sellers ship through YouSend every day: for the carriers that is wholesale volume, for us a wholesale discount, and that is exactly what you see in the calculator. Two carriers serve the Dutch route, UPS and FedEx: an urgent express with a guaranteed transit time, or an unhurried economy rate - the choice is yours.

UPS

from 1 working day

Express and Express Saver take 1-2 working days with a guaranteed transit time: a parcel to Amsterdam or Rotterdam is there by the next morning. Standard is the economy road service at 3-6 working days, and it still goes right to the door of the recipient.

FedEx

from 1 working day

International Priority arrives in 1-3 working days; International Economy and Connect Plus take 4-6 when there is no rush. Equally at home with documents and boxes.

Customs and paperwork

The Netherlands is an EU member state, so a parcel from Latvia needs no export customs clearance: personal shipments require neither a declaration nor an invoice. Fill in the address and a description of the contents, and the booking is complete.

  • No customs declarations and no duties within the EU - the parcel travels as if it were a domestic shipment.
  • A Dutch postcode is four digits and two letters, for example 1012 AB; the space between them does not matter.
  • For commercial consignments the paperwork depends on the recipient - check with a manager before you ship.

A parcel to Amsterdam, Rotterdam or The Hague is booked in a few minutes: address, weight, dimensions - and the courier is already on the way to your address.

What you cannot send to the Netherlands

The list of prohibited items comes from the rules of UPS and FedEx and from EU law. Before you book, make sure the contents are not restricted.

  • Flammable liquids, gases and aerosols
  • Weapons, ammunition and their component parts
  • Narcotic and psychotropic substances
  • Perishable food without specialist packaging
  • Lithium batteries shipped separately from the device
  • Cash, jewellery and precious metals
The list is not complete: every carrier has additional rules of its own. If you are unsure about the contents, message a manager before you book.

How to get your parcel ready for shipping

Good packaging protects the contents in transit and counts in your favour if a claim is ever reviewed. We have put together a detailed guide: choosing the box, protecting fragile items, the drop test and photographing what you pack.
