We ship parcels worldwide, and that needs data: who sends, to whom and what. This page states plainly what we collect, why, who we pass it to and what you can do about it. No legal fog.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you next time. We group them in three, and two of the three switch on only with your consent.
Without them the site does not work: you could neither sign in nor submit a form. They need no consent — the law says so explicitly.

We show no ads on our own site and sell your data to no one. These cookies are used only to see how accurately our outbound communication is set up — for inviting new users, so that we offer our product only to those for whom it is relevant.

Google Ads: links a click on an ad to a completed shipment | 90 days |
The "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page reopens the banner — each group can be switched on or off there. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, but then the site forgets both your sign-in and your choice.
Cookie settingsThe site runs over an encrypted connection and we store no passwords at all — signing in works only through a one-time link sent by email. Staff access to customer data is split by role and actions in the back office are logged. Servers are located in the European Union and backups are taken daily.
Data goes only to those without whom the service does not work. We do not sell data and do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
This happens in one case only — when you yourself ship a parcel to a country outside the European Union. Then sender and recipient details necessarily go to the carrier and to the customs authority of the destination country: without them the goods are not cleared. The legal basis is performance of your delivery contract.
We collect nothing "just in case". Every row below serves a specific job.
| Data | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Account: name, email, phone, language | Signing in via an emailed link, access to your account, parcel notifications | Contract |
| Company details: name, registration and VAT number, address, bank | Issuing invoices and bookkeeping | Contract and legal obligation |
| Shipments: pickup and delivery addresses, contents, weight, dimensions, value | Price calculation, booking with the carrier, printing labels and customs documents, tracking | Contract |
| Recipient details: name, address, phone, email | Delivering the parcel and carrier notifications — see the separate section below | Contract with the sender and our legitimate interest in delivering the goods |
| Invoices and payments | Paying for services, overdue reminders, accounting records | Contract and legal obligation |
| Correspondence: emails, WhatsApp messages, contact form enquiries | Support and resolving delivery issues | Legitimate interest — answering our customers |
| Technical data: IP address, browser type, request timestamps | Running the site, protection against password attacks and abuse | Legitimate interest — service security |
| Visit and advertising performance analytics | Understanding which pages are used and whether our advertising pays off | Your consent in the cookie banner |
| How you reached the site: the address of the page you came from and any tags in the link | Seeing which channels bring customers. If you create an account, the source is stored with it | Legitimate interest — measuring acquisition channels. Nothing is stored on your device |
For business customers we pull public records from the Latvian Register of Enterprises: company name, registration number, registered address, status. This is open data — it fills in company details without manual typing and flags in time when a company has been liquidated or declared insolvent.
Your details were given to us by the sender — without them the parcel cannot be handed over. We keep them for as long as the shipment record itself, use them only for delivery and notifications, and pass them to the carrier transporting the parcel. You may ask what exactly is recorded about you and request correction or deletion — write to info@yousend.lv and we will answer whether or not you have an account with us.
YouSend is operated by SIA Global Trade (reg. No. 40203160950), registered at Lāčplēša iela 87, Rīga, LV-1011. We act as the data controller: we decide what data is processed and for what purpose. For anything about your data write to info@yousend.lv — we reply within a month, usually much sooner.
Under data protection law you may: find out what data of yours we hold and receive a copy; correct anything wrong — some details can be edited straight in your account; request deletion where the data is no longer needed for the service or by law; restrict processing or object to it; receive your data in a machine-readable format and move it to another provider; withdraw consent to analytics and advertising at any time — the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. Withdrawal does not undo what happened before it.
To exercise a right, write to info@yousend.lv from the address registered in your account. We reply within a month.
If you believe we handle your data improperly, you may complain to the supervisory authority — the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, Elijas iela 17, Riga, pasts@dvi.gov.lv). But do try us first: almost everything is settled faster directly.
When our tools or the law change, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant — a new purpose of processing, for instance — we will notify you by email and, where needed, ask for consent again.
Write to info@yousend.lv — we answer in plain language.
Cookies remember your login, language and other small things — the internet would simply fall apart without them, so they are always on. We also ask you not to switch off supporting analytics and ad statistics: they help us offer you better technical and product solutions. More in our Privacy Policy.
