What the plugin does in your store

The plugin holds no delivery logic of its own: it asks for rates and creates shipments in your YouSend account, so the prices are exactly the ones you see there.

Courier rates at checkout
The buyer sees the available services with real prices and delivery times for their address and the weight of the order.
Shipment from the order screen
The «YouSend: create shipment» entry in the order actions list. Address, weight and contents are taken from the order itself.
PDF label
The label link appears right in the order screen: print it and stick it on the box, no need to open your account.
Substitution for a refused service
Carriers sometimes quote a price for destinations they will not ship to. The plugin picks the next service — silently, as long as it is not more expensive than your limit allows.
Your own markup
Show the buyer your exact cost, or add a percentage on top — to cover packaging, for example.
Protection from duplicate shipments
Clicking twice or reloading the page does not create a second shipment with the carrier: the plugin returns the one already created.
Installation

Five steps to your first shipment

Nothing to program: everything is done with the mouse in the WordPress admin.

Get an API key
Sign in to your YouSend account and open the «API» section in the top menu. The key is shown once — copy it right away. If you have no account yet, signing up takes a minute and needs no password.

Install the plugin
Download the archive with the button above. In your store admin: Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin → choose the archive → Install → Activate.

Enter the key and the pickup address
WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → YouSend. Paste the key, set the address where the courier collects parcels, and the size of the box you normally use.

Add YouSend to a shipping zone
WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → Shipping zones: open the zone you need and add the YouSend shipping method. Without this step no rate appears at checkout and the plugin looks broken.

Create your first shipment
Open a paid order, pick «YouSend: create shipment» in the order actions, then «YouSend: get shipping label». The shipment also appears in your YouSend account.
About the pickup address
The address in the plugin settings must match one of the pickup addresses in your YouSend account — otherwise the courier has nowhere to come.
Before you switch it on

Four things worth knowing in advance

This is not fine print, it is what surprises stores most often in the first days.

Product weight is required
The carrier bills by real weight. If weights are missing in the product cards, the plugin refuses to quote — otherwise the difference would come out of your pocket.
YouSend prices are always in euro
If your store sells in another currency, the shipping method stays hidden until you set the rate. That way the buyer never sees a price in the wrong currency.
Automatic labels are off on purpose
A created label is already a real shipment with the carrier, and UPS and FedEx shipments cannot be cancelled afterwards. Turn automatic creation on only once your order flow is steady.
Substitution is capped by your limit
The buyer has already paid for the service they chose, so the difference is on the store. The plugin substitutes another service only while it stays within your limit, otherwise it stops and lists the options with prices.

How much does the plugin cost?
Nothing. You pay only for the delivery itself at your YouSend rates — the API and the plugin are free.
Do I need a developer?
No. Installation is the usual archive upload in the WordPress admin, and the settings are four fields and a checkbox.
What if I run several stores?
One key can serve several stores: orders will not collide, because the plugin adds the site address to the duplicate-protection key.
Does the plugin work with the new order storage?
Yes. The plugin declares compatibility with HPOS and has been tested on it, as well as on the WooCommerce block checkout.
Can I look around without creating a shipment?
Yes. Rates at checkout are calculated without creating anything, and a shipment appears only when you pick the action in the order screen yourself.
What if no rate shows up at checkout?
Almost always it is step 4: the YouSend method is not added to the shipping zone. Check the zone the buyer address falls into, and if that does not help, write to us on WhatsApp.
What comes next

The plugin quotes the orders, but someone still packs them by hand

While the orders are few, packing them and handing them to the courier yourself is fine. Once the flow grows, the goods can sit with us instead: storage is free, and picked orders leave for the buyers the same day. The plugin stays where it is and keeps passing the orders to us — what changes is who keeps the warehouse and does the packing.
